About
Construction knowledge shouldn’t be limited to contractors.
A homeowner renovating a kitchen is asked to evaluate a document written in a professional language they have never had a reason to learn, commit an amount comparable to a car, and do it in a week. The imbalance is not anyone’s fault. It is simply how the transaction is structured.
Projet GH exists to correct that imbalance in the only place where correcting it is straightforward: information. Reading a contractor quote carefully is not a mystery. Knowing which line items are usually absent, what an allowance really commits you to, and how the same work gets priced three different ways — that knowledge exists, and there is no good reason it should stay on one side of the table.
So the practice was built around a single restriction: Projet GH does not build. It does not subcontract, does not take referral fees, and does not have a preferred contractor. That restriction costs revenue, and it is exactly what makes the advice worth something.
The result is a quieter kind of service. No urgency, no discounts, no pressure to commit. You bring a project and the documents you have; you leave with a clearer view of what you are buying and better questions to ask the professionals who will build it.
Mission
Help homeowners approach construction and renovation projects with greater clarity, preparation and confidence.
What the practice is built on
01
Independence
No construction work, no subcontracting, no referral fees, no commercial ties to contractors or suppliers. The only client is the homeowner who is paying for the advice.
02
Transparency
What is reviewed, what is not, and where the limits of the analysis sit are stated openly before the work begins. Uncertainty is named as uncertainty, never dressed up as a number.
03
Practical advice
Guidance you can act on this week: what to ask, what to clarify in writing, what to decide first. Theory that does not change a decision has no place in a consultation.
04
Clear communication
Technical language is translated, not repeated. Every explanation is given in French or English, in ordinary words, with the reasoning visible so you can use it yourself.
05
Client-first consulting
The recommendation is the one that serves your project — including when it is to wait, to reduce the scope, or to not book a consultation at all.
Behind the practice
Projet GH is an independent consulting practice serving homeowners in Greater Montreal. The work consists of reading construction documents, analyzing pricing and scope, and explaining both to the people paying for them — in French or in English. The practice is led by Garen Hanenian.
